Products
Are your pieces unique?
Yes! All of my products are unique, made-to-order by hand. Each piece is an original, and even though they're all made with my signature style in mind, every piece will have a slight variation to the next, so no two pieces are the same
Some pieces are limited edition, so if you see something you like, be sure to get it while it's still available!
Can I make my own wedding ring?
You can absolutely make your own wedding ring!
I love working with people to create their wedding rings. There are so many options, you can commission a special piece, design your own ring and even make your own rings in a private class.
There are so many options, we can't wait to see what you come up with.
Do you only use recycled materials?
I am proud to say that all of my precious metals are recycled, and that I source them from Palloys an Australian merchant who sells recycled metals.
I recycle metals from workshops and my studio, and I remodel existing jewellery into new pieces. All my silver is Sterling Silver, and my Gold is either 9k or 18k Gold.
What type of silver do you use
We use recycled sterling silver for all of our jewelry. We purchase from Palloys an Australian merchant, who recycles scrap silver into new silver bars, which are then sold to jewelers.
How do I care for my jewellery?
Keeping your jewellery clean and shining is important, but keeping it safe is even more so. That's why we recommend keeping your jewellery away from chlorine and the sea—both can increase oxidisation, which means you'll have to clean the piece more often.
But what if you need to clean your jewellery?
No problem! Here's what you do:
If your jewellery has no stones:
Dissolve 1tsp citric acid in a cup of boiling water. Let it sit for two minutes.
Take your jewellery out of the water and rub with a silver cloth. It will now be sparkling clean!
If your jewellery does have stones in them:
Different stones have different porosity; some will require more work than others. That's why we recommend bringing your jewellery into our studio for a quick clean and refresh—we’re here for you!
Ring Sizing
I use UK sizing for rings A-Z. If you know your ring size and want a comparison chart, Palloys have some great resources here: https://52.243.106.160/resources technicalGuides/ringSize
If you don't know your ring size and have a ring that fits, there are two easy ways to find out what it is. You can use the Jason Withers Ring Sizer and put your ring on
the screen until it tells you what the size is. You can also purchase a ring sizer for $5 on my website and use it again and again!
Bangle sizing
We want you to have the perfect bangle, and we know that not every bangle fits every wrist. That's why we've made our bangles in three different sizes: small, medium, and large.
If you're still not quite sure which size is right for you, don't worry! We can create a custom bangle just for you! Just send us an email to get started.
Earring hook lengths
Short hooks measure 3 to 3.5cm
Medium hooks measure 3.5 to 4.5cm
Long hooks measure 4.5 to 5cm
If you want to know the total drop length of any pair, or have them customised, send us an email and we will be more than happy to help.
How long is the standard chain?
Our standard chain is 45 cms (17 inches), but if you'd like something shorter or longer just let us know before you order and we will create a custom order just for you.

Workshops
Where are they offered?
I have classes in Kyneton at The Old Auction House, Maine Foodstore in Castlemaine and Perfect Pear Workshops in Pakenham (until end of 2023).
I also teach from Ticker Studios in Belgrave where I have my own studio.
What can I learn?
In a beginner class, you can choose from earrings, rings, or earrings. You will work with silver, copper, brass, or a mix of metals. If you complete your first project with time to spare, you might even have time to work on a second project!
In a bangle class, you will get to use lots of different techniques. You'll make one silver bangle that you can take home with you!
Do you offer private classes?
Yes, we offer private classes. We're currently booked out for most weekends in 2023, but we have limited availability at our studio in Belgrave. We are set up to accommodate 1-2 guests at our studio, with workshop space available for larger groups. Please contact
sales@sarahmunningsjewellery.com to discuss your needs, and we'd be happy to help you find a time that works!
Can I work with Gold?
We recommend starting with silver. Silver is beautiful to work with, and it will give you a much better idea of the process before moving on to Gold. The class price includes sterling silver, copper and brass so you'll be able to experiment with all three while working on your techniques.
The most important thing is to practice a lot—the more you do it, the better you'll get. Once you've mastered these basic skills and know how to work with the three different metals, then it's time to move on to gold either at home or in a private class! Mistakes in gold are more expensive because so make sure you have a good understanding of what you're doing before taking on this metal!
Can I bring stones?
We are currently not offering stone setting classes.
Stone setting is a skill that needs to be practised and you need to be experienced in soldering before attempting it.
